Section 17-13-4 Payment of compensation of officers and other expenses of elections. The compensation of officers and other expenses of any and all primary elections, general or special, held under the provisions of this chapter, shall be paid in the same manner and to the same extent as is or may be provided by law for the payment of the expenses and officers of general elections held under the general election laws of Alabama and shall be paid out of the county treasury in the same manner. Section 17-8-1 Appointment of election officials; duties. (a) The appointing board, or a majority of them acting as an appointing board, not more than 20 nor less than 15 days before the holding of any election in their county, shall appoint from the qualified electors of the respective precinct, necessary precinct election officials, which shall include at least one inspector, to act at each voting place in each precinct.
