Section 45-39-81.04 Additional court costs - Certain circuit, district, and municipal court cases. (a) The Legislature hereby approves the proposed increase in the maximum rate at which the city general purpose tax is authorized to be levied from one and eight-tenths per centum [1.8 percent, equivalent to 18 mills] of the assessed value of taxable property in the city to two and four-tenths per centum [2.4 percent, equivalent to 24 mills] of the assessed value of taxable property in the city. (a) Each election official of Calhoun County shall receive the rate of minimum wage for each hour, or fraction thereof, that the polls are open per day for the performance of his or her official duties. The county governing body of Calhoun County shall supplement the compensation already provided by the general law of the state with funds out of the county general fund sufficient to bring said compensation up to the amount provided for by this section; provided, however, in any municipal election in which the official serves, the supplement provided for herein shall be paid by the municipality in which such election is held.
