Section 27-31A-3 Risk retention groups chartered in this state. (a)(1) A risk retention group shall, pursuant to this title, be chartered and licensed to write only liability insurance pursuant to this chapter and, except as provided elsewhere in this chapter, shall comply with all of the laws, rules, regulations, and requirements applicable to the insurers chartered and licensed in this state and with Section 27-31A-4, to the extent the requirements are not a limitation on laws, rules, regulations, or requirements of this state. (2) Notwithstanding any other provision to the contrary, all risk retention groups chartered in this state shall file with the department and the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) an annual statement in a form prescribed by the NAIC and, if required by the commissioner, in electronic format. (a) The board shall have the following powers: (1) In accordance with the Administrative Procedure Act, to adopt rules not in conflict with the laws of this state which are reasonable, proper, and necessary to carry out the functions of the board in the regulation of persons engaged in providing security officers within this state. Section 34-5A-7 Expiration and renewal of license. (a) A license shall be granted for a period of two years and shall expire on December 31 in the second year. Before the expiration of a license, the license may be renewed upon submission of an application for renewal, including proof of continued certification by the certifying entity and payment of the renewal fee imposed by the board. (b) All licenses issued pursuant to this chapter shall be subject to renewal and shall expire unless renewed in the manner prescribed by the rules of the board upon the payment of a renewal fee. Section 27-31B-9 Reports and statements. (a) Captive insurance companies shall not be required to make any annual report except as provided in this chapter. Section 11-44E-3 Election of commission and mayor; term of office. (a) The expense for all elections shall be paid by such city.
