Section 17-1-5 Employers to allow time off for voting. Each employee in the state shall,
upon reasonable notice to his or her employer, be permitted by his or her employer to take
necessary time off from his or her employment to vote in any municipal, county, state, or
federal political party primary or election for which the employee is qualified and registered
to vote on the day on which the primary or election is held. The necessary time off shall
not exceed one hour and if the hours of work of the employee commence at least two hours after
the opening of the polls or end at least one hour prior to the closing of the polls, then
the time off for voting as provided in this section shall not be available. The employer
may specify the hours during which the employee may absent himself or herself as provided

Section 17-9-13 Voting assistance; time allowed to finish voting. (a) Any person who
wishes assistance in voting may receive assistance from any person the voter chooses except
the voter's employer, an agent of the employer, or an officer or agent of the voter's union.

Section 45-49-151.17 Disposition of funds. (a) All fees, commissions, taxes, and other
monies, including fines and forfeitures, received under this subpart shall be paid to the
racing commission and shall be remitted by it to the county treasurer for deposit in the county
treasury to the account of the Mobile County Racing Commission as directed by the racing commission.
All monies remaining after payment of the expenses incurred in the administration of this

Section 17-13-8.1 Instant runoff primary elections in certain situations. (a) Notwithstanding
the provisions of Section 17-6-23 and Section 17-13-18, in a primary election
or second primary election, this section shall apply only to voters who are voting
by absentee ballot pursuant to the Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act in

Section 17-13-9 Duty of judge of probate to furnish and deliver election supplies. The
judge of probate of each county is hereby required to furnish to the officers of the primary
election a copy of the official list of voters of each voting place in the county, of the
same kind and in the same manner as the judge of probate is required by law to furnish such
list to the officers at any general state election. The judge of probate shall also furnish

for officers and employees. (a) The governing body of any county soil and water conservation
district may, by resolution legally adopted to conform to rules prescribed by the State Employees'
Insurance Board, elect to have its officers and employees who are full-time employees working
