Section 16-9-13 Powers and duties as executive officer of board. The county superintendent
of education, as the executive officer of the county board of education, shall see that the
laws relating to the schools, the rules and regulations of the state and county boards of
education are carried into effect. The county superintendent of education shall have authority
to administer oaths and to examine witnesses, under oath, in any part of the county on any
matter pertaining to the public schools of the county, and to cause the examination to be

Section 16-25-19 Administration. (a) The general administration and responsibility for
the proper operation of the retirement system and for making effective the provisions of this
chapter are hereby vested in a board of trustees which shall be known as the Board of Control

Section 45-37-40.02 Barber commission. (a) There shall be a barber commission for the
county consisting of three members, one of whom shall be black, herein at times referred to
as the commission. The present members of the commission having been previously appointed
by the county commission, shall serve for the duration of their term, but in the event of
