Section 32-6-41 Board created; membership, appointment, expenses, meetings, etc. (a) There is hereby created within the state Department of Public Safety a Driver License Medical Advisory Board for the purposes of advising the director concerning the medical aspects of driver licensure. (b) The board shall consist of a minimum of 18 physicians appointed by the director, from a slate of nominees submitted by the Medical Association of the State of Alabama and one licensed optometrist appointed by the director from a slate of nominees submitted by the Alabama Optometric Association. Each member of the board shall be licensed to practice in this state. Section 34-37-4 Meetings, compensation, and expenses of board. (a) The board shall meet when necessary for the proper performance of its duties, but in no case less than once a year.
