Section 2-8-382 Purposes; programs; legislative findings. (a) The purpose of this article is to assist Alabama in the development of a more permanent, profitable, and diversified agriculture by moving to the forefront of industrial hemp production, development, and commercialization of hemp products in agribusiness, and other business sectors, both nationally and globally and to the greatest extent possible. These purposes may be accomplished, in part, through all of the following: (1) An industrial hemp research program overseen by the department, working exclusively or in conjunction with other research partners. This research program may include the planting, cultivation, and analysis of industrial hemp demonstration plots by selected growers that are licensed by the department pursuant to this article. (2) An institution of higher education's program to conduct industrial hemp research. (3) The pursuit by the department or an institution of higher education of any federal permits...

Section 31-6-11 Proof to be submitted by applicants for benefits. (a) Before an application of any veteran for benefits under this chapter can be approved, such veteran shall submit proof, satisfactory to the State Department of Veterans' Affairs, of all of the following: (1) Identification. Section 34-14A-20 Alabama Construction Trade Academy Fund; Alabama Construction Trade Advisory Council; applications for funding; program guidelines. (a) The Alabama Construction Trade Academy Fund is established in the State Treasury. The fund shall be comprised of federal, state, and private funding through direct budgetary funding and grants for the expansion of construction trade education. To the extent practicable, monies in the fund shall be used to leverage other forms of funding from private sources. A percentage of matching funds, as established by the advisory council, must come from private, non-governmental sources.
