Section 16-22-11 Cost-of-living increase for certain public education employees; salary schedules for two-year postsecondary institutions; miscellaneous pay provisions. (a) The State Budget Officer shall allocate to the State Board of Education, the Board of Trustees of the Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind, the Board of Youth Services Department District, the Alabama School of Fine Arts, and the Alabama School of Mathematics and Science, for disbursement to the employees thereof funds based on the following criteria. It is not the intent of the Legislature to make an appropriation in this section. (1) KINDERGARTEN THROUGH GRADE 12 (K-12). Section 16-24-64 Full-time teachers to be employed for positions of at least 20 class hours per week. Part-time employment shall not be used in such manner as to replace full-time personnel or teaching positions. At any time should the number of class hours of part-time personnel in any grade or subject in school equal or exceed 20 hours per week, a full-time teacher shall be employed. Section 16-6D-8 Tax credits; Failing Schools Income Tax Credit Account. (a) To provide educational flexibility and state accountability for students in failing schools: (1) For tax years beginning on and after January 1, 2013, an Alabama income tax credit is made available to the parent of a student enrolled in or assigned to attend a failing school to help offset the cost of transferring the student to a nonfailing public school or nonpublic school of the parent's choice.
