Section 29-2-273 Goals and objectives; funding. (a) The committee shall make a continuous study
of the energy supply for the state and make recommendations for legislation and initiatives
that will create the necessary institutional and regulatory changes to accomplish the overall
goals and objectives of the state in a manner that benefits the economy and protects the environment.
(b) The continuing study conducted by the committee, and recommendations submitted to the
Governor and the Legislature, shall be designed to achieve the following goals and objectives,
provided that those goals and objectives may be met while still providing reliable and affordable

for gifted and talented children. (a) The Legislature finds and declares the following: (1)
It is vital that Alabama's public schools challenge and encourage students who are capable
of completing accelerated academic work. (2) Programs to encourage accelerated students can
often be maintained by schools, after an initial start cost, with funding roughly equivalent

Section 16-65-5 Powers of authority. The authority shall have all of the following powers:
(1) To adopt an official seal and alter the same at its pleasure. (2) To sue and be sued in

Section 16-8-26 Definitions; personal leave for teachers during time schools are in session;
reimbursement for unused personal leave. (a) When used in this section, the following terms

Section 21-3A-4 Composition; appointment and duties of members. (a) For the purposes of implementing
this chapter, the Governor shall appoint the Interagency Coordinating Council. The council
shall consist of not less than 15 members nor more than the number allowed by regulation.

Section 34-14A-20 Alabama Construction Trade Academy Fund; Alabama Construction Trade Advisory
Council; applications for funding; program guidelines. (a) The Alabama Construction Trade
Academy Fund is established in the State Treasury. The fund shall be comprised of federal,
state, and private funding through direct budgetary funding and grants for the expansion of
construction trade education. To the extent practicable, monies in the fund shall be used
to leverage other forms of funding from private sources. A percentage of matching funds, as
established by the advisory council, must come from private, non-governmental sources. The
board may not use more than 15 percent of the monies in the fund for administrative and operational

Section 34-21-2 Board of Nursing generally. (a) There is created the Board of Nursing, which
shall be composed of 13 members to be appointed and have the duties and powers enumerated
in this section. The membership of the board shall be inclusive and reflect the racial, gender,
geographic, urban/rural, and economic diversity of the state. In order to insure continuity
of administration, the nine board members provided for by Section 3 of Act 427, Regular Session
1975, shall continue to serve to the completion of the term for which they are serving. The
