Section 41-29-334 Alignment of training and instruction; development of Alabama Industry
Recognized and Registered Apprenticeship model. (a) The Alabama Office of Apprenticeship,
in consultation with the Governor's Office of Education and Workforce Transformation, the
P-20W Council, the Alabama Workforce Council Committee on Credentialing and Career Pathways,
the State Department of Education, the Alabama Community College System, the Alabama Workforce
Council, the regional workforce councils, the State Workforce Development Board, and the local
workforce development boards, to the maximum extent practicable and permissible under state
and federal law, shall align the required technical instruction and on-the-job training required
for the completion of registered and industry-recognized apprenticeship programs in the state

Section 45-22-223 Creation of board; composition; powers; funding. (a) In Cullman County,
there is established the Joppa Historical Board to own, operate, manage, and preserve the
former Joppa School property in the unincorporated community of Joppa, including any ball
fields and other historical structures, owned by the Cullman County Board of Education. The
Joppa Historical Board shall be composed of five members appointed by the Cullman County Legislative
Delegation for terms of four years. Members of the board shall continue to serve until a successor
is appointed. Members of the board are immune from civil liability for actions taken in the
conduct of their duties to the extent allowed under Section 36-1-12. (b)(1) The Joppa

guardians of students. (a) If a local board of education provides information on immunizations,
infectious diseases, medications, or other school health issues to parents and guardians of
students in grades K through 12, then all of the following information about influenza disease
and its vaccine shall be included: (1) A description of causes, symptoms, and means of transmission.
(2) A list of sources for additional information. (3) Related recommendations issued by the
Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices of the federal Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention. (b) The Department of Education, in cooperation with the Department of Public

Section 16-22-12 Cost-of-living adjustment for public education employees; miscellaneous
pay provisions. (a) The State Budget Officer shall allocate to the State Board of Education,
the Board of Trustees of the Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind, the Board of Youth Services
Department District, the Alabama School of Fine Arts, and the Alabama High School of Mathematics
and Science, for disbursement to the employees thereof funds based on the following criteria.
It is not the intent of the Legislature to make an appropriation in this section. (1)

Section 16-28-3.1 Guidelines and procedures for withdrawal from school; dropout prevention
program. (a) A child over the age of 17 may withdraw from public school prior to graduation
if both of the following circumstances exist: (1) Written consent is granted by the child's
parent or legal guardian. (2) An exit interview is conducted where the student and the student's
parent or legal guardian have been advised that withdrawal from school shall likely reduce
the student's future earning potential and increase the student's likelihood of being unemployed
in the future. During the exit interview, the student who is withdrawing from school shall
be given information that has been prepared and supplied by the State Department of Education
regarding the detrimental impacts and effects of early withdrawal from school along with any
available training and employment opportunity programs, provided such information is available.

Section 16-16-15 Incentive fund and council. (a) There is hereby created the Alabama
Public School and College Education Incentive Fund (Incentive Fund). Fifty-five million dollars
($55,000,000) from the first series of bonds issued pursuant to Act 2007-415 shall be deposited
