Section 11-98-1 Definitions. (a) As used in this chapter, the following words and terms have
the following meanings, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise: (1) AUTOMATIC NUMBER
IDENTIFICATION. An enhanced 911 service capability that enables the automatic display of the
10-digit telephone number used to place a 911 call. The term includes pseudo-automatic number
identification, which means an enhanced 911 service capability that enables identification
of the subscriber. (2) CMRS. Commercial mobile radio service under Sections 3(27) and 332(d)
of the Federal Telecommunications Act of 1996, 47 U.S.C. ยง151 et seq., and Omnibus Budget
Reconciliation Act of 1993, Pub. L. 103-66, Aug. 10, 1993, 107 Stat. 312. The term includes

Section 16-5-10 Additional powers and duties of commission. The commission shall exercise the
following powers and duties in addition to those otherwise specified in this article: (1)
To cause to be made such surveys and evaluations of higher education as are believed necessary
for the purpose of providing appropriate information to carry out its powers and duties. (2)

Section 41-9-478 Liberal construction of article; additional powers. (a) The provisions of
this article shall be construed liberally, it being the purpose to provide in this state appropriate

Section 16-24B-2 Definitions. As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the following
meanings: (1) CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER. The chief administrative officer of the employing board,

competitive bidding; approval of plans. All contracts entered into by the authority involving
the expenditure of funds in the preparation of plans and specifications, and all work done

Section 28-3-184 Tax levied; collection; disposition of funds. (a) Levy. In addition to the
licenses provided for by Chapter 3A of this title, there is hereby levied a privilege or excise
tax on every person licensed under the provisions of said Chapter 3A who sells, stores or
receives for the purpose of distribution, to any person, firm, corporation, club or association
within the State of Alabama any malt or brewed beverages. The tax levied hereby shall be measured
by and graduated in accordance with the volume of sales by such person of malt or brewed beverages,
