Section 16-60-110.1 Alabama Community College System established; board of trustees; transfer
of duties. (a) There is created the Alabama Community College System as a body corporate under
the name of the Alabama Community College System, which shall replace and succeed to the duties
of the Department of Postsecondary Education and shall operate a system of community and technical
colleges within the state. All references in state law to the Department of Postsecondary
Education, Postsecondary Education Department, and Alabama College System, or terms of like
import, shall be deemed to refer to the Alabama Community College System. The body corporate
created by this subsection shall have all the rights, privileges, and powers necessary to

Section 16-60-350 Definitions. For the purposes of this article, the following words shall
have the following meanings: (1) CAREER-TECHNICAL DUAL ENROLLMENT PROGRAM. A program that
allows eligible high school students to enroll in college-level career technical education

(a) All powers, duties, responsibilities, and functions of, and all related records, property,
equipment of, and all rights, obligations of, and unexpended balances of appropriations including
federal and other funds or allocations for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2002, of the
Adult Education program, the State Approving Agency program, and the Private School Licensure

within the postsecondary system as the H. Councill Trenholm State Technical College is hereby

Section 34-14A-20 Alabama Construction Trade Academy Fund; Alabama Construction Trade Advisory
Council; applications for funding; program guidelines. (a) The Alabama Construction Trade
Academy Fund is established in the State Treasury. The fund shall be comprised of federal,
state, and private funding through direct budgetary funding and grants for the expansion of
construction trade education. To the extent practicable, monies in the fund shall be used
