Section 45-11-244.02 Authorization of levy of sales tax. (a) The governing body of the county
is authorized to levy and impose in the county, in addition to all other taxes of every kind
now imposed by law, and to collect as herein provided, a privilege or license tax against

and distribution of discipline policy; liability limited for discipline actions; local boards
may adopt more stringent guidelines. (a) The Legislature finds a compelling public interest
in ensuring that schools are made safe and drug-free for all students and school employees.
The Legislature finds the need for a comprehensive safe school and drug-free school policy
to be adopted by the State Board of Education. This policy should establish minimum standards
for classes of offenses and prescribe uniform minimum procedures and penalties for those who
violate the policies. It is the intent of the Legislature that our schools remain safe and

Section 16-1-40 Education Trust Fund proration relief. (a) During fiscal year 2009 and any
fiscal year in which proration is declared by the Governor in an amount equal to or greater
than three percent, local boards of education, with the recommendation of the local superintendent,

Section 16-13-231 Purposes and plan of apportionment. (a) In addition to all other appropriations
and apportionments of public school money now provided by law and made available for public
schools there shall be apportioned and paid to local boards of education from the Foundation
Program Fund, the amounts to be determined as hereinafter provided and in accordance with
