Section 44-2-20 Text of compact. The Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children is hereby enacted into law and entered into with all other jurisdictions legally joining therein in form substantially as follows: Article I. Purpose and Policy. It is the purpose and policy of the party states to cooperate with each other in the interstate placement of children to the end that: (a) Each child requiring placement shall receive the maximum opportunity to be placed in a suitable environment and with persons or institutions having appropriate qualifications and facilities to provide a necessary and desirable degree and type of care. (b) The appropriate authorities in a state where a child is to be placed may have full opportunity to ascertain the circumstances of the proposed placement, thereby promoting full compliance with applicable requirements for the protection of the child. Section 9-16-71 Declaration of public policy and legislative intent; all land surface mined under this article shall be reclaimed. (a) The objective of this article is to provide for the safe, responsible and reasonable reclamation of lands upon which surface disturbances will be created by surface mining and the surface effects of underground mining so as to protect the taxable value of property and preserve natural resources within the state and protect and promote the health and safety of the people of this state, consistent with the protection of property and with maximum employment and the economic and industrial well-being of the state. Section 5-13B-26 Examinations; periodic reports; cooperative agreements; assessment of fees. (a) To the extent consistent with subsection (c), the superintendent may make such examinations of any branch established and maintained in this state pursuant to this article by an out-of-state state bank as the superintendent may deem necessary to determine whether the branch is being operated in compliance with the laws of this state and in accordance with safe and sound banking practices. The provisions of Chapter 3A, Title 5, shall apply to such examinations.
