Section 45-49-40.17 Barber school prerequisites. (a) An application for a license and approval
as a registered school or college of barbering shall contain, under oath, all of the following:
(1) The full name of the applicant. (2) The residence of the applicant, and if an association
or corporation, the same information of the members of the association and of the stockholders
and directors of the corporation. (3) The exact location where the school or college is located
or proposed to be located. (4) Whether or not the school or college is owned or leased, and
if leased, the name and residence of the owner, or if an association or corporation, the same
information of the members of the association and of the directors and stockholders thereof.
(5) Evidence that a bond in the amount of twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000) has been
filed with the State Treasurer and made payable to the State of Alabama, conditioned upon

Section 16-39-2 Definitions. For purposes of this chapter, the following words, terms, and
phrases shall have the following respective interpretations: (1) EXCEPTIONAL CHILDREN. Persons

Section 16-6G-6 Dyslexia therapist certification endoresement; accreditation of teacher preparation
programs; licensure and certification of teachers; professional learning. (a) The State Superintendent
of Education shall develop, and the State Board of Education shall approve, a dyslexia therapist
certification endorsement on or before December 31, 2019. (1) K-12 and early childhood teachers
who have completed an International Multisensory Structured Language Education Council endorsed
training course and have received a passing score on the Academic Language Therapy Association's
Certified Academic Language Therapy assessment, or the International Dyslexia Association's
Knowledge and Practice Examination of Effective Reading Instruction, and who hold a valid
Professional Educator Certificate shall be eligible for a dyslexia therapist endorsement.

Section 34-22-20 Qualifications of applicants; examination; issuance and execution of licenses;
use of pharmaceutical agents. (a) Every person desiring to practice optometry in this state
shall be 19 years of age, or over, a citizen of the United States or, if not a citizen of

Section 16-5-54 THIS SECTION WAS ASSIGNED BY THE CODE COMMISSIONER IN THE 2018 REGULAR SESSION,
EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2018. THIS IS NOT IN THE CURRENT CODE SUPPLEMENT. (a) To be eligible for
the base program of two thousand five hundred dollars ($2,500) per semester, an applicant
shall satisfy all of the following: (1) Be a graduate of a State Board of Education or State
Department of Education approved program in math or science, at the baccalaureate or master's
level, from an approved institution leading to an initial secondary professional educator
certificate endorsed in math or science. A teacher who only earns a passing score on the Praxis

desiring to engage as an apprentice shall satisfy all of the following: (1) Make application
as a funeral director's apprentice or an embalmer's apprentice to the board upon a form provided
