Section 45-5-120 Merit system; board; violations. (a) This section shall apply
only in Blount County, Alabama. (b) As used in this section, unless the context clearly
requires a different meaning: (1) "County" means Blount County; (2) "Municipality"
means any municipality in Blount County; (3) "Employee" means any person, including
law enforcement officers, not excepted by subsection (c), who is employed in the service of
Blount County or any municipality of Blount County or any board, agency, or instrumentality
thereof; (4) "Merit employee" means any such employee who shall have completed one
year of probationary employment; (5) "Board" means the merit system board created
by this section; (6) "Appointment authority" means in the case of employees

fees, commission greyhound wagering fees, and other fees, commissions, and moneys, including

Section 34-43-6 Alabama Board of Massage Therapy. (a) There is created the Alabama Board
of Massage Therapy. The purpose of the board is to protect the health, safety, and welfare
of the public by ensuring that licensed massage therapists, massage therapy schools, and massage

Section 45-36-162 Distribution of payments. (a) Any payments coming into the treasury
of Jackson County that are derived, directly or indirectly, from payments by the Tennessee
Valley Authority in lieu of payment of taxes shall be appropriated as follows: (1) One percent
to the Jackson County Economic Development Fund paid to the fund monthly until it reaches
a balance of one million dollars ($1,000,000); the payments shall continue whenever the balance

Section 45-37-40.02 Barber commission. (a) There shall be a barber commission for the
county consisting of three members, one of whom shall be black, herein at times referred to
as the commission. The present members of the commission having been previously appointed
by the county commission, shall serve for the duration of their term, but in the event of
a vacancy existing at the time of taking effect of this section or occurring in the
future, the vacancy shall be filled, and all subsequent members of the commission shall be
