Section 31-9-40 Compact adopted and enacted. The Emergency Management Assistance Compact is enacted into law and entered with all jurisdictions mutually adopting the compact in the form substantially as follows: THE EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT ASSISTANCE COMPACT Article I - Purpose and Authorities. This compact is made and entered into by and between the participating member states which enact this compact, hereinafter called party states. For the purpose of this agreement, the term "states" is taken to mean the several states, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the District of Columbia, and all U.S. territorial possessions. Any incorporated or unincorporated municipality or locality in the state having a population of less than 100,000 desiring additional optometrists and wishing to be designated as a locality needing additional optometrists, may apply to the Board of Optometric Scholarship Awards to be placed on a list of localities in need of additional optometrists, which list shall be maintained by the board. Such application may be made either by the municipal governing body or by a petition signed by at least one-twentieth of the qualified electors of the municipality or locality. (a) A pharmacist licensed by the Alabama State Board of Pharmacy and a physician licensed by the State Board of Medical Examiners may enter into a collaborative practice agreement. Section 34-24-361 Investigations; reporting offenses; proceedings and actions; privileged information. (a)(1) The State Board of Medical Examiners on its own motion may investigate any evidence which appears to show that a physician or osteopath holding a certificate of qualification to practice medicine or osteopathy in the State of Alabama is or may be guilty of any of the acts, offenses, or conditions set out in Section 34-24-360.
