Section 16-44-2 Alabama Education Council. There is hereby established the Alabama Education
Council composed of the members of the Education Commission of the States representing the
State of Alabama, appointed by the Governor and to serve at the pleasure of the Governor.
The Governor shall be chairman of said council. The council shall meet on the call of its
chairman or at the request of the majority of its members. The council may consider any and
all matters relating to education of the states and the activities of the members in representing
