Section 28-3-190 Levy of tax; collection; disposition of proceeds by localities; enforcement
and administration; penalties; exclusive nature of tax. (a) Levy. In addition to the excise
tax levied by Article 5A of Chapter 3 of this title and the licenses provided for by Chapter
3A of this title and by Section 28-3-194, and any acts amendatory thereof, supplementary
thereto or substituted therefor, and municipal and county licenses, there is hereby levied
a privilege or excise tax on every person licensed under the provisions of Chapter 3A who
sells, stores, or receives for the purpose of distribution, to any person, firm, corporation,
club, or association within the State of Alabama any beer. The tax levied hereby shall be
measured by and graduated in accordance with the volume of sales by such person of beer, and
shall be an amount equal to one and six hundred twenty-five thousands cents (1.625 cents)

Section 16-3-33 Providing instruction not available at state-supported institutions
- College or university instruction. The State Board of Education, under such rules and regulations
as it shall determine, may provide assistance for residents of Alabama for instruction on
the college or university level at private nondenominational institutions when such instruction
is not available to such residents at public, state-supported educational institutions in
Alabama. The State Board of Education shall, by its rules and regulations, determine the qualifications
of persons who may be aided under the provisions of this section, and the decision

Section 26-16-9 Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Board - Disbursement generally. (a)
The state board may authorize the disbursement of available money from the trust fund exclusively
for the following purposes, which are listed in the order of preference for expenditure: (1)
To fund a private nonprofit or public organization in the development or operation of a program
if at least all of the following conditions are met: a. The appropriate local council has
reviewed the program. This paragraph does not apply if a local council does not exist for

Section 16-8-19 Joint maintenance of schools - State-line schools. When a county board
of education desires to provide for the joint maintenance of a public school by a county in
this state and an adjoining county in another state, said board shall ascertain what agreement
with the authority having power to bind the county in the other state may be secured for such
joint maintenance, and if the county board deems the conditions of the agreement mutually
advantageous, it shall certify the same, together with all the facts, to the State Superintendent
