Section 23-1-64 Disposal of surplus personal property - Department to be responsible for disposal; sale at fair market value and payment; preferences; notification by municipalities and counties. (a) Notwithstanding the provisions of Sections 41-16-120 to 41-16-125, inclusive, the State Department of Transportation shall be responsible for the distribution, transfer, or disposal of all surplus personal property owned by the department. All appeals from the rulings of the board of equalization fixing value of property shall be taken within 30 days after the final decision of said board fixing the assessed valuation as provided in this chapter.
