Section 15-12-40 Establishment of public defender office; selection and appointment
of attorneys. The indigent defense advisory board may establish a public defender office as
a method to provide indigent defense services within a circuit or any part thereof. For each
new term, and to fill any vacancy, the director may select and appoint a public defender for
a circuit. The indigent defense advisory board shall be consulted and have the right to recommend
the selection and appointment of a public defender for the circuit. Attorneys appointed hereunder
as public defenders shall be licensed to practice law in Alabama at the time of the appointment

(a) Any person who manufactures, sells, transfers, receives, or possesses a listed precursor
chemical violates this article if the person: (1) Knowingly fails to comply with the reporting
requirements of this article; (2) Knowingly makes a false statement in a report or record
required by this article or the rules adopted thereunder; (3) Is required by this article
to have a listed precursor chemical license or permit, and is a person as defined by this

in formulating rules and policy pertaining to emergency medical services by the State Emergency
