Section 16-3-4 Removal of members. The Governor may remove any appointive member of the board
for immorality, misconduct in office, incompetency or willful neglect of duty, giving to him
a copy of the charges against him and, upon not less than 10 days' notice, an opportunity
of being heard publicly in person or by counsel in his own defense. If any member shall be
removed, the Governor shall file in the office of the Secretary of State a complete statement
of all charges against such member of his findings thereon, together with a complete record

Section 40-2B-2 Alabama Tax Tribunal. (a) Statement of Purpose. To increase public confidence
in the fairness of the state tax system, the state shall provide an independent agency with
tax expertise to resolve disputes between the Department of Revenue and taxpayers, prior to
requiring the payment of the amounts in issue or the posting of a bond, but after the taxpayer
has had a full opportunity to attempt settlement with the Department of Revenue based, among
other things, on the hazards of litigation. By establishing an independent Alabama Tax Tribunal
