The college shall offer to all eligible students in attendance a program of general education consisting of courses parallel to those of the first and second years of work at a state institution of higher learning offering a four-year course. (a) Any Jacksonville State University police officer appointed pursuant to this section or Section 16-22-1, is a peace officer whose authority extends to any place in the state.
