Section 45-39A-12.05 Board of Education - Vacancies. A vacancy on the board of education shall
be filled by appointment by a majority of the remaining members of the board of education
for the unexpired term. The remaining members of the board shall fill the vacancy within 45
days after the vacancy occurs from qualified candidates who apply for the position on the
board. If the vacancy is not filled by the remaining members of the board of education within
45 days, the city superintendent of education shall notify the State Superintendent of Education
who shall fill the vacancy by appointment. A person filling a vacancy on the board shall reside

Section 45-39A-13.02 Composition of civil service board. The civil service board shall consist
of five members to be appointed by the members of the City Council of the City of Florence.
In each year the city council shall appoint one person as the successor to the member of the
civil service board whose term shall expire that year. The person so appointed shall hold
office for a term of five years from and including the first Tuesday after the first Monday
of April of the year and until his or her successor shall be appointed and qualify for office.
Appointments to fill vacancies on the board shall be for the unexpired term. Any member of

Section 16-11-3 Election; terms of office; vacancies. Annually at the regular meetings of the
city council or commission in April the council or commission shall elect a member or members
of the board of education to succeed those whose term or terms of office expire that year.
Members of the city board of education shall assume office at the next regular meeting of
the city board of education in June following their appointment. The terms of office of members
of the city board of education shall be five years, and the term of one member shall expire

Section 35-8A-303 Board members and officers. (a) Except as provided in the declaration, the
bylaws, the articles of incorporation in subsection (b), or other provisions of this chapter,

Section 17-5-4 Filing statement to show principal campaign committee; duties and procedures.
(a) Within five days after any person becomes a candidate for office, such person shall file
with the Secretary of State or judge of probate, as provided in Section 17-5-9, a statement
