Section 40-23-1 Definitions; transactions considered or not considered sales. (a) For
the purpose of this division, the following terms shall have the respective meanings ascribed
by this section: (1) PERSON or COMPANY. Used interchangeably, includes any individual,
firm, copartnership, association, corporation, receiver, trustee, or any other group or combination
acting as a unit and the plural as well as the singular number, unless the intention to give
a more limited meaning is disclosed by the context. (2) DEPARTMENT. The Department of Revenue

Section 31-9-40 Compact adopted and enacted. The Emergency Management Assistance Compact
is enacted into law and entered with all jurisdictions mutually adopting the compact in the

Section 36-29-10 Election by retired employees to continue coverage; payment of premiums.
(a) Employees covered under the plan who retire from active service before January 1, 2012,
and begin receiving monthly benefits from the Employees' Retirement System of Alabama, Judicial

Section 36-29-7 Payment of employer's contribution; coverage for dependents; changes
to contributions; withholding of employee's contribution; State Employees' Insurance Fund.
(a) The board is hereby authorized to provide under the provisions of this chapter that the
employer's contribution to the cost of such plan for coverage of the employee and retiree
shall be paid by the employer. (b) Each employee and retiree shall be entitled to have his
or her spouse and dependent children, as defined by the rules and regulations of the board,
included in the coverage provided upon agreeing to pay the employee's contribution of the
