ARTICLE I PURPOSE It is the purpose of this compact to remove barriers to education success imposed on children of military families because of frequent moves and deployment of their parents by: A. Facilitating the timely enrollment of children of military families and ensuring that they are not placed at a disadvantage due to difficulty in the transfer of education records from the previous school district(s) or variations in entrance/age requirements. B. Facilitating the student placement process through which children of military families are not disadvantaged by variations in attendance requirements, scheduling, sequencing, grading, course content or assessment. Section 40-27-1 Compact adopted; terms. The following Multistate Tax Compact is hereby approved, adopted and enacted into law by the State of Alabama: Multistate Tax Compact Article I. Purposes. The purposes of this compact are to: 1. Facilitate proper determination of state and local tax liability of multistate taxpayers, including the equitable apportionment of tax bases and settlement of apportionment disputes. 2. Section 25-4-51 Rates of contributions, etc., by employers. (a) Contributions. Except as hereinafter provided and subject to the provisions of Section 25-4-54, every employer shall pay contributions, or payments in lieu of contributions, equal to the percentages of wages payable or paid as hereinafter set out, with respect to employment by him. Section 16-25-11.1 Use of accrued sick leave in determining creditable service in retirement system; conversion of unused sick leave. (a) Teachers, as defined in subdivision (3) of Section 16-25-1 or subsection (d) of Section 16-25-5, as amended may use their accrued sick leave, up to a maximum number of accrued sick leave days allowed by law, to be included as membership service in determining the total years of creditable service in the Teachers' Retirement System of Alabama; provided, any teacher not authorized by law to receive sick leave may use any accrued sick leave provided by his or her employer, provided, that employer is lawfully empowered to grant such leave, which cannot be without pay; and provided further that the amount of such accrued leave shall not exceed the maximum number of accrued sick leave days allowed by law for a classroom teacher employed by a city or county board of education.
