Section 10A-2A-1.40 Chapter definitions. Notwithstanding Section 10A-1-1.03, as used in this chapter, unless otherwise specified or unless the context otherwise requires, the following terms have the following meanings: (1) AUTHORIZED STOCK means the stock of all classes and series a corporation or foreign corporation is authorized to issue. (2) BENEFICIAL STOCKHOLDER means a person who owns the beneficial interest in stock, which is either a record stockholder or a person on whose behalf shares of stock are registered in the name of an intermediary or nominee. (3) CERTIFICATE OF INCORPORATION means the certificate of incorporation described in Section 10A-2A-2.02, all amendments to the certificate of incorporation, and any other documents permitted or required to be delivered for filing by a corporation with the Secretary of State under this chapter or Chapter 1 that modify, amend, supplement, restate, or replace the certificate of incorporation. Section 27-36A-4 Actuarial opinion of reserves. (a) Actuarial opinion prior to the operative date of the valuation manual as defined by Section 27-36A-15. (1) GENERAL. Every life insurance company doing business in this state shall annually submit the opinion of a qualified actuary as to whether the reserves and related actuarial items held in support of the policies and contracts specified by the commissioner by regulation are computed appropriately, are based on assumptions which satisfy contractual provisions, are consistent with prior reported amounts, and comply with applicable laws of this state. Section 40-23-5 Certain organizations and vendors exempt from payment of state, county, and municipal sales and use taxes. (a) The Diabetes Trust Fund, Inc., and any of its branches or agencies, heretofore or hereafter organized and existing in good faith in the State of Alabama for purposes other than for pecuniary gain and not for individual profit, are exempted from paying any state, county, or municipal sales or use taxes. Section 20-2-190 Penalties; sale of ephedrine, etc.; Alabama Drug Abuse Task Force. (a) Any person who manufactures, sells, transfers, receives, or possesses a listed precursor chemical violates this article if the person: (1) Knowingly fails to comply with the reporting requirements of this article; (2) Knowingly makes a false statement in a report or record required by this article or the rules adopted thereunder; (3) Is required by this article to have a listed precursor chemical license or permit, and is a person as defined by this article, and knowingly or deliberately fails to obtain such a license or permit. Section 40-12-253 Ad valorem taxation of motor vehicles. (a) Effective January 1, 2000, ad valorem taxes on motor vehicles shall be assessed and the tax collected forward on a current basis to coincide with the collection of motor vehicle license taxes and registration fees. (1) Ad valorem taxes on motor vehicles shall become due and payable on the first day of the registration renewal month of the owner, the date the motor vehicle enters the State of Alabama, the date the motor vehicle is removed from the inventory of a dealer, or the date on which the motor vehicle is otherwise determined to be taxable, whichever comes first. (a) There are exempted from the provisions of this division and from the computation of the amount of the tax levied, assessed, or payable under this division the following: (1) The gross proceeds of the sales of lubricating oil and gasoline as defined in Sections 40-17-30 and 40-17-170 and the gross proceeds from those sales of lubricating oil destined for out-of-state use which are transacted in a manner whereby an out-of-state purchaser takes delivery of such oil at a distributor's plant within this state and transports it out-of-state, which are otherwise taxed.
