Section 16-22-11 Cost-of-living increase for certain public education employees; salary
schedules for two-year postsecondary institutions; miscellaneous pay provisions. (a) The State
Budget Officer shall allocate to the State Board of Education, the Board of Trustees of the
Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind, the Board of Youth Services Department District, the
Alabama School of Fine Arts, and the Alabama School of Mathematics and Science, for disbursement
to the employees thereof funds based on the following criteria. It is not the intent of the
Legislature to make an appropriation in this section. (1) KINDERGARTEN THROUGH GRADE
12 (K-12). An eight and one-half percent salary increase shall be given to each teacher employed

Section 16-13A-7 Audits. (a)(1) The yearly business and financial transactions of a
local board of education shall be audited as early as possible after the end of the fiscal
year. (2) The audits of the books and accounts of local boards of education shall be conducted
by the Department of Examiners of Public Accounts. The Department of Examiners of Public Accounts

Section 36-6-11 Longevity pay. (a) Each person employed by the State of Alabama, and
all legislative personnel, officers, or employees, including but not limited to Legislative
Reference Service personnel, whether subject to the state Merit System or not, shall be entitled

Section 38-2-8 County departments of human resources. (a) There is hereby created in
each county a county department of human resources which shall consist of the county director
of human resources and such other officers and employees as the county board and state department
shall deem necessary for the efficient performance of the welfare services of the county.
The county director, subject to the approval of the county board and the provisions of the
merit system, shall appoint such staff as may be necessary to administer the welfare activities
