Section 45-8A-111.08 Powers of authority. (a) The Office of Indigent Defense Services is established to carry out the administrative duties relating to the provision of indigent defense services. The director shall use existing employees of the Department of Finance and its existing offices, as assigned by the Director of Finance. (a) The Legislature finds that the number of students attending the several school systems located in those areas of North Alabama that will be directly impacted by the 2005 BRAC and Subsequent BRAC Actions will collectively increase by an estimated 9,000 students.
