Section 45-46-90.06 Powers of the authority. (a) The authority shall have the following powers, together with all powers incidental thereto or necessary to the discharge thereof in corporate form: (1) To have succession by its corporate name for the duration of time which may be perpetuity, subject to Section 45-46-90.18, specified in its certificate of incorporation. (2) To sue and be sued in its own name in civil suits and actions, excepting actions in tort, and to defend suits against it. Section 45-28-244.01 Levy and collection of tax; disposition of funds; Etowah County Development Committee. (a) In Etowah County, there is levied a one cent ($0.01) county sales and use tax in all areas of the county, which may become effective no sooner than January 1, 1996.
