Section 45-30A-50.03 Organization of board. The personnel program established by this part shall be administered by the board. The board shall consist of five members who are residents of the city and who shall be appointed by the governing body. No member of the board shall be employed by or be an official of the city, nor hold any elective public office. The composition of the board shall be designated as Place No. 1, Place No. 2, Place No. 3, Place No. 4, and Place No. 5. The person appointed as a member of the board in Place No. 1 shall serve a term of two years; the person so appointed for Place No. 2 shall serve a term of four years; the person appointed for Place No. 3 shall serve a term of six years. Effective October 1, 1997, all the assets of the retirement system shall be credited according to the purpose for which they are held among three funds, namely: The Annuity Savings Fund, the Pension Accumulation Fund, and the Expense Fund. Section 28-3-184 Tax levied; collection; disposition of funds. (a) Levy. In addition to the licenses provided for by Chapter 3A of this title, there is hereby levied a privilege or excise tax on every person licensed under the provisions of said Chapter 3A who sells, stores or receives for the purpose of distribution, to any person, firm, corporation, club or association within the State of Alabama any malt or brewed beverages.
