Section 16-13B-10 Conflict of interests; violations. (a) No member or officer of the city and county boards of education shall be financially interested or have any personal beneficial interest, either directly or indirectly, in the purchase of or contract for any personal property or contractual service, nor shall any person willfully make any purchase or award any contract in violation of this chapter. (b) Any violation of this section shall be deemed a misdemeanor, and any person who violates this section, upon conviction, shall be imprisoned for not more than 12 months or fined not more than five hundred dollars ($500), or both. Section 27-29-10 Violations and penalties; criminal proceedings. (a) Any insurer failing, without just cause, to file any registration statement as required in this chapter shall be required, after notice and hearing, to pay a penalty of up to one thousand dollars ($1,000) for each day's delay, to be recovered by the commissioner and the penalty so recovered shall be paid into the state General Fund. The maximum penalty under this section is fifty thousand dollars ($50,000).
