shall adhere to generally accepted accounting principles. b. A public charter school shall
annually engage an independent certified public accountant to do an independent audit of the
school's finances. A public charter school shall file a copy of each audit report and accompanying
management letter to its authorizer by June 1. This audit shall include the same requirements

Section 16-6B-4 Financial accountability. Following the analysis of the financial integrity
of each local board of education as provided in subsection (a) or (b) of Section 16-13A-2,
if a local board of education is determined to have submitted fiscally unsound financial reports,

Section 16-1-44.1 School security personnel and school resource officers. (a) As used in this
section, the following terms have the following meanings: (1) RETIRED LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER.
A person who was a law enforcement officer and retired in good standing from a federal, state,
or local law enforcement agency with at least 20 years of law enforcement experience. (2)
