Section 24-10-6 Purpose. The Alabama Affordable Housing Act is established for the following purposes: (1) To increase the production of housing units and home ownership and to preserve the supply of rental housing that is affordable to individuals and families with incomes at or below 60 percent of the median family income. (2) To maintain and rehabilitate existing affordable housing units to insure their continued availability to individuals and families with incomes at or below 60 percent of the median family income. (3) To serve individuals and families living at or below 60 percent of the median family income. No less than 50 percent of the resources placed into the fund each year shall be used to serve individuals and families with household incomes at or below 30 percent of the median family income as determined by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Section 38-14-9 Administration of accounts. (a) Subject to rules promulgated by the department, a fiduciary organization has sole authority over, and responsibility for, the administration of individual development accounts. The responsibility of the fiduciary organization extends to all aspects of the account program, including marketing to all eligible individuals and families, soliciting matching funds, counseling account owners, providing financial literacy education, and conducting required verification and compliance activities. Section 40-18-422 (Credit expires after 2025 tax year unless extended.) Tax credit for eligible employers of apprentices. (a) For tax years beginning on or after January 1, 2017, through the tax year beginning January 1, 2019, an Alabama income tax credit is allowed for eligible employers that employ an apprentice for at least seven full months of the prior taxable year. The credit shall equal up to one thousand dollars ($1,000) for each apprentice employed, not to exceed five apprentices employed. She began a crusade her senior year of high school in 2004 to end the silence and shame around sexual abuse.
