Section 41-4-114 Purchase of property from United States or its agencies. (a) Whenever it appears advantageous to the state or any department, division, bureau, commission, board or other agency thereof to purchase or otherwise acquire any equipment, supplies, material or other property which may be offered for sale by the United States of America or any agency thereof, the state Purchasing Agent may, with the approval of the Governor and the Director of Finance, enter into a contract for such purchase with the federal government or with any federal agency charged with the sale or disposition of such equipment, supplies, material or other property, and, subject to the aforesaid approval, said state Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized to execute such contract or contracts.
