Section 13A-11-55 Indictment for carrying weapons unlawfully; proof. In an indictment for carrying
weapons unlawfully, it is sufficient to charge that the defendant carried concealed about
his person a pistol, or other description of firearms, on premises not his own, or a bowie
knife, or other knife or instrument of the like kind or description, or other forbidden weapon,
describing it, as the case may be; and the excuse, if any, must be proved by the defendant
on the trial, to the satisfaction of the jury; and if the evidence offered to excuse the charge

Section 15-21-34 Summoning and compensation of guards to convey prisoner. (a) When the person
on whose behalf a writ of habeas corpus is sued out is charged with a public offense, the
officer or person having charge of him may summon a sufficient guard to aid in conveying him
before the court or judge before whom the writ is returnable and conveying him back again
if he is not discharged. (b) In the case provided for in subsection (a) of this section, the
officer and guards are entitled to the same compensation as for removing any prisoner on a
change of venue, to be paid in the same manner. Such guards are under the control of the officer
summoning them, and any guard who refuses to obey or violates the lawful instructions of such

Section 15-25-3 Prosecution for physical or sexual offense or exploitation involving child
under age 16 - Use of closed circuit equipment; competence of victim as witness. (a) In those
criminal prosecutions set out in Section 15-25-1, the court, on motion of the state or the
defendant prior to the trial of the case, may order that the testimony of any alleged victim
of the crime or witness thereto who is under the age of 16 at the time of the order shall
be viewed and heard at trial by the court and the finder of fact by closed circuit equipment.
In ruling on the motion the court shall take into consideration those matters set out in Section

appearance of accused before judge. The arrest of a person may be lawfully made also by an
officer or a private citizen without a warrant upon reasonable information that the accused
