Section 45-37A-331.03 Utilization of photographic traffic signal enforcement system. (a) The city is authorized to utilize an automated photographic traffic signal enforcement system to detect and record traffic signal violations, to issue notices of civil violations by mail, and to prosecute civil violations for the recorded traffic signal violations which may occur within the corporate limits of the city as provided in this part. A civil fine assessed under this part shall not exceed one hundred dollars ($100), and municipal court costs shall be assessed in the same manner and in the same amounts prescribed for a municipal criminal traffic control device violation prosecuted as a misdemeanor under Sections 32-5A-31, 32-5A-32, or 32-5A-35, or any combination thereof. Court costs collected pursuant to this part shall be distributed in the same manner as prescribed by law for the distribution of municipal court costs for misdemeanor violations. Section 45-29A-20 Court costs. (a)(1) Notwithstanding any special, local, or general law to the contrary, there is levied additional court costs and charges of fifteen dollars ($15) upon any criminal or civil cases including, but not limited to, felony cases, misdemeanor cases, and traffic violation cases whose jurisdiction is in the Town of Berry Municipal Court of the Twenty-fourth Judicial Circuit. Section 34-2-36 Penalties; hearing; enforcement; appeal. (a) On or after April 28, 1999, any person who knowingly, willfully, or intentionally violates any provision of this chapter shall be guilty of a Class A misdemeanor. Each day of violation shall constitute a distinct and separate offense.
