Section 27-7-19 Licenses - Penalties. (a) The commissioner may place on probation, refuse to issue or renew, suspend, or revoke the license of any licensee under this chapter, or may levy a civil penalty in accordance with subsection (c), or any combination of actions, for any one or more of the following causes: (1) Any cause for which issuance of the license could have been refused had it then existed and been known to the commissioner. (2) Providing incorrect, misleading, incomplete, or materially untrue information in any application or in any communication to the commissioner. (3) Obtaining or attempting to obtain a license through misrepresentation or fraud. (4) Intentionally misrepresenting the terms of any actual or proposed insurance contract or application for insurance. (5) Having admitted or been found to have committed any insurance unfair trade practice or fraud. Section 40-29A-3 Tax amnesty program. (a) The department shall develop and implement a tax amnesty program in accordance with the provisions of this chapter. The commissioner may provide by rule as necessary for the administration and implementation of the program. The commissioner shall publicize the program in order to maximize the public awareness of and participation in the program. If the owner of any land within the district fails to pay an assessment when due, time being of the essence, the board may commence proceedings to foreclose on the land as follows: (1) The board shall send a letter, certified mail, return receipt requested, United States first class mail to the last known address of the owner. The address of the owner as shown in the tax assessment records of the tax assessor or revenue commissioner for the county in which the property is located shall be sufficient.
