Section 20-2-255 Hearings; restriction, suspension, revocation of certificate. (a) Any hearing regarding the issuance, restriction, limitation, suspension, or revocation of a Qualified Alabama Controlled Substances Registration Certificate (QACSC) held by a certified registered nurse practitioner or a certified nurse midwife for any violations of this article shall be before the Board of Medical Examiners. (b) The board shall have the authority to restrict, suspend, or revoke a QACSC, whenever a CRNP or a CNM is found guilty on the basis of substantial evidence of any of the acts or offenses enumerated in Section 20-2-254. The board shall also have the authority to reinstate or to deny reinstatement of a QACSC. (c) The board may limit revocation or suspension of a QACSC to the particular controlled substance with respect to which grounds for revocation or suspension exist. A law enforcement officer may arrest any person for a violation of this chapter if the officer has probable cause to believe that the person has violated any provision of a valid elder abuse protection order, whether temporary or permanent.
