Section 45-37-231 False personation of a peace officer. In Jefferson County, any person who falsely personates a peace officer of this or any other state, or any political subdivision thereof; or any person who under color of such false personation shall perform or attempt to perform, the duties of any such peace officer, or shall under color of such personation deprive any person of a legal right shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and, upon conviction, be punished by imprisonment in the county jail at hard labor for a period not to exceed six months, or by a fine of not more than five hundred dollars ($500) or by both in the discretion of the court. The sheriff may revoke any permit if the permit holder or any officer, director, agent, member, or employee of the permit holder violates this article or rules promulgated pursuant to this article.
