Section 45-37-241.20 Appeals from decisions of the Board of Equalization. (a) For the purpose
of convenience and brevity this act shall be known and referred to as the Expeditious and
Economical Tax Appeals Act. (b) This section shall apply only in Jefferson County. This section
is alternative to and cumulative to Section 40-3-25; but when a taxpayer elects to take an
appeal under this section from a decision or ruling of the board of equalization fixing the
market value of the real property, Section 40-3-25 shall not be applicable to such appeal
but in the event the taxpayer pays his or her taxes before a final decree in the case and
is entitled to a refund then that portion of the section providing for a refund to the taxpayer
shall be applicable or in the event of an increase the increase shall be payable as provided
in the sections. (c) An appeal may be taken under this section from a decision of the board

Section 45-47-231.32 Removal, discharge, or demotion of merit employees. (a)(1) The governing
body of the county or a municipality, or the head of any department or office, can remove,
discharge, or demote any merit employee who is directly under such governing body, or department
head, provided that within five days a report in writing of such action is made to the board,
giving the reason for such removal, discharge, or demotion. The employee shall have 10 days
from the time of his or her notification of his or her removal, discharge, or demotion in
which to appeal to the board. If such appeal is filed, the board shall thereupon order the
charges or complaint to be filed forthwith in writing, if not already filed, and shall hold

Section 45-49A-63 Definitions. As used in this part, the following words and terms shall have
meanings as follows: (1) ANNUITY STARTING DATE. The first day for which a benefit is payable
as an annuity or any other form under Section 45-49A-63.80. (2) BENEFICIARY. The person or

report; notice of reports and annual meeting. On or before August 1 of each year, the board
of water management commissioners of any district organized under this article shall have
the accounts of the district audited, and it shall file with the court of probate having jurisdiction
thereof the auditor's report showing the receipts and disbursements of the district for the
preceding calendar year ending June 30 as well as its statement of the character of the work

Section 13A-11-75 Permit to carry pistol in vehicle or concealed on person - Issuance; fee;
revocation; release of information. (a)(1)a. The sheriff of a county, upon the application
of any person residing in that county, within 30 days from receipt of a complete application

vehicle or concealed on or about his or her person within this state for one- to five-year

Section 2-22-12 Proceedings upon determination of deficiency in guaranteed primary plant nutrients
in commercial fertilizers - Generally. (a) If the analysis shall show that a commercial fertilizer
