Section 12-23-12 Court referral officer assessment fee. In addition to the imposition of any other costs, penalties, or fines imposed pursuant to law, any person convicted as an adult or adjudicated a youthful offender or juvenile delinquent based on the offense of driving under the influence or other alcohol or drug related offenses as defined in this chapter shall be ordered by the court to pay an alcohol and drug abuse court referral officer assessment fee in an amount recommended by the Administrative Office of Courts and approved by the Supreme Court. Such additional assessment fee shall be collected by the court referral officer by the 10th day of each month. Section 12-15-117 Retention and termination of jurisdiction generally. (a) Once a child has been adjudicated dependent, delinquent, or in need of supervision, jurisdiction of the juvenile court shall terminate when the child becomes 21 years of age unless, prior thereto, the judge of the juvenile court terminates its jurisdiction by explicitly stating in a written order that it is terminating jurisdiction over the case involving the child. (a) Any drug offender subject to this chapter who posts bail shall submit to random observed drug tests as a condition of pretrial release. (b) A drug offender shall be required to undergo a screening under any of the following conditions: (1) The results of a drug test are positive. (2) The drug offender requests a screening. Section 36-18-25 Collection of DNA samples from convicted persons. (a) All persons convicted of a criminal offense as set out in Section 36-18-24 shall, when requested by the director submit to the taking of a DNA sample or samples as may be specified by the director, provided, however, the director shall promulgate such rules and regulations as may be necessary for the purposes of ensuring that DNA samples are collected in a medically approved manner.
