Section 15-21-16 Service of writ. A writ of habeas corpus must be served by the sheriff, deputy
sheriff or some constable of the county in which it is issued or in which the person on whose
behalf it issued out is imprisoned or detained, by delivering a copy to the person to whom
it is directed and showing the original, if demanded. If such person cannot be found, conceals
himself or refuses admittance to the officer, the writ may be served by leaving a copy at
the place where the party is confined with any person of full age who, for the time being,
has charge of the party or by posting it in a conspicuous place on the outside of the house

Section 12-21-180 Subpoenas for witnesses. (a) At the request of any party to a pending case,
or the attorney of a party, the clerk of the court must issue subpoenas for witnesses, whose
addresses shall be given by the person requesting the subpoena, specifying therein the time
and place for their appearance, the title of the case and the party at whose instance they
are summoned and commanding them to appear in conformity therewith and give testimony. (b)
No subpoena shall issue for a witness residing more than 100 miles from the place of trial,

Section 2-2-31 Seizure and condemnation of adulterated, misbranded or substandard article.
Any article, substance, material or product which is subject to the provisions of this article
which is adulterated, misbranded or under the standard, grade, weight or measure claimed,
within the meaning of any provision of law or rules and regulations under authority of law,
and which is manufactured for sale, held in possession with intent to sell, offered or exposed

Section 45-34-80.20 Summons; service. (a) Notices of the requirement of the attendance of jury
service in the Circuit Court of Henry County may be served by first class mail or may be served
as provided by the Alabama Rules of Civil Procedure and this code. If, in the discretion of

Section 15-21-14 Issuance of precept; execution of precept by sheriff or constable. (a) At
the time of issuing a writ of habeas corpus or at any time afterward before the hearing, the
officer issuing the writ must, on a proper showing, issue a precept directed to any sheriff
or constable of the state, commanding him to have the body of the person who is imprisoned
or restrained produced before the officer before whom the writ is returnable at the time and
