Section 15-20A-28 Juvenile sex offender - Lifetime registration and notification. (a) A juvenile adjudicated delinquent of any of the following sex offenses, who was 14 or older at the time of the offense, shall be subject to registration and notification, if applicable, for life: (1) Rape in the first degree, as provided by Section 13A-6-61. (2) Sodomy in the first degree, as provided by Section 13A-6-63. (3) Sexual abuse in the first degree, as provided by Section 13A-6-66. (4) Sexual torture, as provided by Section 13A-6-65.1. Section 15-20A-37 Failure to register; absconding. (a) When a sex offender declares, and the county is notified that a sex offender intends to reside, maintain employment or a volunteer position, or attend school in the county and the sex offender fails to appear for registration, the county that received the notice shall immediately inform the sheriff of the county that provided the notice that the sex offender failed to appear for registration. (a) It is the intent of the Legislature that a duplicate of a certified copy of a public record be admissible and is not dependent on the original custodian of record to gain admissibility.
