Section 15-18-111 Definitions. As used in this article, the following words and phrases shall have the following meanings, respectively, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise: (1) DEPARTMENT. (a) No inmate in the custody of the Department of Corrections or city and county jails shall establish or maintain an account on any Internet-based social networking website. (b) For purposes of this section, social networking website means an Internet-based website that has any of the following capabilities: (1) Allows users to create web pages or profiles about themselves that are available to the general public or to any other users. (2) Offers a mechanism for communication among users, such as a forum, chat room, electronic mail, or instant messaging. In addition to the cash, transportation and clothes to be furnished to state inmates, as provided in Section 14-10-1 upon their lawful discharge from custody, there shall be allowed and paid to each such inmate whose time in custody does not exceed five years the sum of $10 in cash and to each such inmate whose time in custody exceeds five years the sum of $10 plus an additional sum in cash at the rate of $2 per annum for each additional year or fractional part of a year of not less than six months of actual time in custody after conviction.
