Section 16-5-53 THIS SECTION WAS ASSIGNED BY THE CODE COMMISSIONER IN THE 2018 REGULAR SESSION,
EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2018. THIS IS NOT IN THE CURRENT CODE SUPPLEMENT. (a) The Alabama Math and
Science Teacher Education Program shall be administered by the commission, which may adopt
any rules necessary for the administration of the program. (b) The commission shall adopt
standards for awarding loan repayments to an Alabama public school teacher who satisfies all
of the following: (1) Has graduated from an approved institution. (2) Holds a valid Alabama
professional educator certificate endorsed in math or science. (3) Is teaching in an Alabama
public school full-time in the field of math or science. (4) Is eligible to receive additional
funds for teaching math or science in a public school in a geographic area with acute teacher

Section 34-15C-5 Powers and duties of board. The board shall perform the following duties,

Section 34-27A-5 Rulemaking authority; powers and duties of board; immunity from suit. (a)
The board shall act by a majority vote of its members to adopt administrative rules necessary,

Section 36-32-13 Joint Legislative Oversight Committee; transfer of certain employees to State
Merit System; membership of commission. (a) There is created the Joint Legislative Oversight
Committee of the Alabama Firefighters' Personnel Standards and Education Commission. The committee

Section 25-14-2 Legislative findings. The Legislature finds and declares the following: (1)
That employee leasing is a growing industry in the State of Alabama and that professional
employer organizations provide increased opportunities for employers to develop cost-effective
methods of satisfying their personnel requirements and providing employees with access to

Section 16-23-16.1 Creation of Professional Teachers Standards Commission; designation or development
of entry-level pre-certification examination for teacher candidates. (a) The Legislature finds
that Alabama is alone among the southern states in not testing teacher candidates before allowing
them in the classroom, and acknowledges that the need exists to establish, maintain, and enforce
minimum professional standards for teacher candidates in the State of Alabama. In response

Section 16-44A-16 Establishment of bank accounts; adoption of annual budget; performance of
independent annual audit. (a) The board shall establish its account(s) and deposit its funds
therein with any bank qualified to serve as a state depositary. All funds shall be governed
