Section 22-52-91 Duty of law enforcement officer, community mental health officer to take into custody alleged mentally ill persons; detention; admission; hearing. (a) When a law enforcement officer is confronted by circumstances and has reasonable cause for believing that a person within the county is mentally ill and also believes that the person is likely to be of immediate danger to self or others, the law enforcement officer shall contact a community mental health officer. The community mental health officer shall join the law enforcement officer at the scene and location of the person to assess conditions and determine if the person needs the attention, specialized care, and services of a designated mental health facility. (a) If the commissioner finds after a hearing conducted in accordance with Section 27-2-28, that any person has violated this chapter, the commissioner may order: (1) For each separate violation, a penalty in an amount of up to $5,000. Section 45-37-244.01 Automobile rental tax. (a) In Jefferson County, in addition to all other taxes imposed by law, there is hereby levied an additional privilege or license tax, in the amount hereinafter prescribed against any person, organization, or other entity engaging or continuing in the county in the business of leasing or renting any passenger automotive vehicle, the duration of the lease being not more than one year. (a) The director may open to any person for inspection, copying, and mechanical reproduction, during the department's regular business hours, criminal history information on any individual, if the individual has given written permission for the release of the information to the requester and if the opening of the information is not forbidden by order of any court of competent jurisdiction or by federal law.
