Section 15-12-46 Applicability of article to establishment of appointed counsel or contract counsel systems, etc. Nothing in this article shall be construed to exclude establishment of appointed counsel or contract counsel systems parallel to a public defender system or to preclude judges from appointing counsel for indigent defendants where there is a conflict of interest involving the public defender or if the public defender is unable to provide prompt and adequate representation, and the indigent defense systems chosen do not provide any other alternative. Section 41-4-322 Programs; director; standards; duties of director and local indigent defense advisory board; budget. (a) The office shall develop and improve programs to provide legal representation to indigents. (b) The office shall have a director, who shall be chosen by the Director of Finance on the basis of training, experience, and other qualifications. (a) The Office of Indigent Defense Services is established to carry out the administrative duties relating to the provision of indigent defense services. Section 34-21-2 Board of Nursing generally. (a) There is created the Board of Nursing, which shall be composed of 13 members to be appointed and have the duties and powers enumerated in this section.
