Section 45-39A-13 Police and fire departments under civil service. The Board of Commissioners of the City of Florence is authorized and empowered at any time subsequent to September 25, 1997, to put into force and effect an ordinance or ordinances governing the police and fire departments of the city as provided in this part; but this part shall have no effect excepting as an authority for the City of Florence to take such action.
