Section 39-2-12 Partial and final payments of contractors by awarding authorities. (a)
As used in this section the following words shall have the meanings ascribed to them
as follows: (1) CONTRACTOR. Any natural person, partnership, company, firm, corporation, association,
limited liability company, cooperative, or other legal entity licensed by the Alabama State
Licensing Board for General Contractors. (2) NONRESIDENT CONTRACTOR. A contractor which is
neither a. organized and existing under the laws of the State of Alabama, nor b. maintains
its principal place of business in the State of Alabama. A nonresident contractor which has
maintained a permanent branch office within the State of Alabama for at least five continuous
years shall not thereafter be deemed to be a nonresident contractor so long as the contractor
continues to maintain a branch office within Alabama. (3) RETAINAGE. That money belonging

Section 40-22-1 Deeds, bills of sale, etc. (a) Except as set out in subsection (b),
no deed, bill of sale, or other instrument of like character which conveys any real or personal
property within this state or which conveys any interest in any such property shall be received
for record unless the privilege or license tax is paid prior to the instrument being offered
for record as provided in subsection (c). (b) No privilege or license tax shall be required

Section 41-10-44.8 Tax credits, job development fees and other incentives. (a) Upon
the issuance by the authority of its project obligations for the purpose of financing a project
for an approved company with respect to which the authority adopted a resolution accepting
the project prior to January 16, 1995, the approved company: (1) Shall receive a credit against
the corporate income tax levied by Section 40-18-31 that otherwise would be owed to
the state in any year by the approved company on its income generated by or arising out of
the project, such credit not to exceed the lesser of (i) the amount due in tax, or (ii) the
amount paid by the approved company pursuant to a financing agreement in the year for which
the tax is due, corresponding to debt service on the project obligations; and (2) May elect

Section 11-65-36 Application of net commission revenues. All commission horse wagering
fees, commission greyhound wagering fees, and other fees, commissions, and moneys, including
fines and forfeitures, to which a commission shall be entitled under the provisions of this
chapter shall be paid to the treasurer of such commission and shall be deposited by said treasurer

Section 27-44-8 Powers and duties of association. (a) If a member insurer is an impaired
insurer, the association may, in its discretion and subject to any conditions imposed by the
association that do not impair the contractual obligations of the impaired insurer, and that

Section 41-16-27 Manner of awarding contracts; records; exemptions. (a) When purchases
are required to be made through competitive bidding, award shall, except as provided in subsection
(f), be made to the lowest responsible bidder taking into consideration the qualities of the
commodities proposed to be supplied, their conformity with specifications, the purposes for
which required, the terms of delivery, transportation charges, and the dates of delivery,

The Department of Corrections shall adopt reasonable regulations and criteria to determine
those state inmates that require clothing and transportation upon the expiration of their
